CMC (Cleveland Motion Controls)

In November 2012, CMC began a new chapter as a subsidiary of Lincoln Electric, a prestigious American company with over 120 years of history.
As the original manufacturer of web tension control pickups, CMC continues to pursue technological advancement and contribute to the web converting industry.

CMC offers two types of transducers: cartridge type and cantilever roller type, capable of handling a tension range of 40:1, far exceeding that of conventional models.

Cartridge-Type Transducer

This is a fixed roller shaft compatible with wide webs.
Two cartridge sizes are available, offering a total of 10 load capacities, and various mounting kits are also available.

Features

This cartridge-type transducer features a modular design, offering the flexibility to be optimally installed according to the conditions of the user's machine.
The Ultra Line cartridge type is particularly suitable for low-tension ranges required for narrow or thin webs, helping to prevent web stretching or wrinkling.

Specifications

  • Various cartridge and bracket options for multiple mounting configurations
  • Compatible with all web path directions
  • Designed to fit most standard machine structures
  • Outstanding Ultra Line features: 40:1 tension range, noise suppression
  • Supports a wide tension range (MWF) with selectable maximum loads of 110N and 450N

    <For Cartridge Size 1T / Max Shaft Diameter φ30mm>

    • Max 110N - Min 2.75N
    • Max 220N - Min 5.5N
    • Max 350N - Min 8.75N
    • Max 450N - Min 11.25N
    • Max 650N - Min 16.25N

    <For Cartridge Size 2T / Max Shaft Diameter φ30mm>

    • Max 650N - Min 16.25N
    • Max 1000N - Min 25N
    • Max 1800N - Min 45N
    • Max 2500N - Min 62.5N
    • Max 4500N - Min 112.5N
  • Permissible overload rate: 150–300%

CLT Series: Cantilever-Type Transducer

This is a fixed roller shaft designed for relatively narrow webs.
Three cartridge sizes are available, offering a total of 10 load capacities, and various mounting kits are also available.

Features

The CLT cantilever-type transducer can be mounted on most rollers as long as the user prepares a fixed shaft type, eliminating the need to manufacture special rollers for this application.
This allows for significant cost savings compared to general cantilever-type transducers.
Another excellent feature of the CLT cantilever-type transducer is its ability to provide consistent output signals regardless of the web position on the roller.
To accommodate a wide range of tension specifications, 10 models are available in 2 body sizes, supporting tensions from as low as 0.5N to as high as 2000N.
This type is typically used for roller widths up to about 500mm.

Specifications

  • Suitable for fixed-shaft rollers with face widths under 500mm
  • Can be installed on user-prepared cantilever rollers—no special design needed
  • Unique CLT design outputs stable tension signals regardless of web position on the roller
  • Compatible with pulley installation
  • Outstanding Ultra Line features: 40:1 tension range, noise suppression
  • Wide tension range (MWF) supported: 0.45N - 2300N

    <For Cartridge Size 1T / Max Shaft Diameter φ30mm>

    • - Max 0.45N — Min 0.01125N
    • - Max 5N — Min 0.1125N
    • - Max 20N — Min 0.5N
    • - Max 45N — Min 1.125N
    • - Max 100N — Min 2.5N
    • - Max 200N — Min 5.0N
    • - Max 450N — Min 11.25N

    <For Cartridge Size 2T / Max Shaft Diameter φ30mm>

    • - Max 450N — Min 11.25N
    • - Max 1000N — Min 25N
    • - Max 2300N — Min 57.5N
  • Permissible overload rate: 150% - 300%
